Description

This is a 6-week online experience for cancer patients being offered Tuesdays, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 8/25 and 9/1 from 3pm-5pm.

Class description:

Mind-Body Medicine focuses on the interactions between mind and body and the powerful ways in which emotional, mental, social and spiritual factors can directly affect health.  We know a cancer diagnosis is traumatic to the body.  We also know it causes trauma to the mind and spirit.

The Mind-Body Skills group focuses on decreasing symptoms of stress, anxiety, anger, depression, mood disturbance and improves quality of life.  The scientifically validated techniques taught in this course enhance each person's capacity for self-care, self-awareness and manage symptoms of distress and anxiety.  These techniques include meditation, guided imagery, mindful eating, biofeedback, and the use of drawing, journaling and movement to express thoughts and feelings.

Due to limited space, please confirm you are available to attend all 6 sessions.

Our classes and programs are funded by grants, sponsors, donors and clients who are paying it forward. Cancer can be expensive; we do not want finances to be a barrier to accessing our valuable programming. Pay-as-you-can with a suggested donation amount per class of $10-$25.
