About the Class:

Tend to yourself as you join others in sacred connection during this one-hour nurturing yoga class with guided meditation, affirmations, sharing and soothing music. Move together using a chair or other props for support. The therapeutic yoga practices learned in class will provide tools for handling stressful situations like anticipating test results or enduring an uncomfortable procedure. Join in unity with others for an evening of nourishing practices to unwind at the end of the day and prepare our bodies, minds and hearts for the days to come.

Bring a mat, chair, blanket or beach towel, bolster or pillow, blocks or small pillows and access to a wall if possible

Our classes and programs are funded by grants, sponsors, donors and clients who are paying it forward. Cancer can be expensive; we do not want finances to be a barrier to accessing our valuable programming. Pay-as-you-can with a suggested donation amount per class of $10-$25.

About the Instructor:

During her treatment for breast cancer Leah was inspired by the book, Radical Hope, by Kelly A. Turner, who writes about the ten key healing factors that are common to those who experience what doctors call a “radical remission” from severe cases of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Most strikingly, seven of the ten healing factors are not physical; they are spiritual, emotional and social.

Leah turned to yoga during her healing journey, benefiting from yoga therapy classes and retreats.  After her cancer treatment concluded, Leah completed a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training and is inspired to share the practices of yoga to support others who are experiencing cancer.
