Expressive Arts for Patients & Survivors Series - This Series is Closed for Registration
Description
What is seeking expression in your cancer experience?
Join us for a transformative 12-week VIRTUAL Cancer Support Group starting on February 24, every Monday at 5:00 PM PST, held via Zoom. This series, facilitated by Nandi Szabo, M.A., a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and a master’s level clinician in Expressive Art Therapies, offers a supportive space to explore creative expression.
Expressive therapy focuses on personal growth through a creative approach, integrating the connection of body, mind, and emotion. Through art, writing, music, movement, and verbal sharing, participants will deepen their emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
This online group aims to create a safe and supportive community, assisting individuals in navigating their cancer experiences with empowerment and resilience. Whether you are newly diagnosed, in the midst of treatment, experiencing a recurrence, or have been in remission for years, this series supports you at any stage.
Participants can expect to:
- Gather tools for creative expression with a focus on empathy and unconditional support
- Awaken to their own body in relation to their health, healing, and personal choices
- Address feelings and the effects of their diagnosis on daily life, body image, and self-esteem
- Improve physical and emotional well-being, address fatigue, and boost energy levels
- Practice stress and fear management and improve communication with family and doctors
- Incorporate compassionate self-care into their daily routine
- Integrate feelings, thoughts, and movements into a creative healing practice
Once registered, you will receive a pre-series survey that must be completed prior to the start of the series. This will help Nandi tailor the experience.
