Description

This class is held in person at the Wellness Within Center.

About the Class:

Come and experience a heart-expansive journey of Mindfulness Meditation & Harp Music led by Jan Webb and Lisa Stine. Using breath and the gentle sounds and vibrations of the harp music, we will cultivate a practice of mindfulness — cultivating a clear, stable, and non-judgemental awareness of all experiences. This meditation practice supports a powerful process of relaxation and self-awareness from within. The stability and non-reactivity you cultivate in meditation practice enhances your ability to navigate stress and anxiety better, elevate the immune system, improve pain management and sleep, and increase your capacity to experience more joy.

Our classes and programs are funded by grants, sponsors, donors and clients who are paying it forward. Cancer can be expensive; we do not want finances to be a barrier to accessing our valuable programming. Pay-as-you-can with a suggested donation amount per class of $10-$25.

About the Instructors:

Jan Webb has experienced the fear that a cancer diagnosis causes, not just with herself and her family, but also with her clientele. She has personally experienced the benefits of meditation and self-exploration. as well as teaching meditation and chair yoga in Roseville, CA. Jan believes the practice of meditation plays a crucial role in understanding ourselves, which enables us to live healthier and happier lives.

Lisa Stine is a music therapist who attended Ohio University and completed her internship at Napa State Hospital here in California. She has enjoyed working with people of all ages, skill levels, and disabilities. Lisa, a breast cancer survivor herself, established the Harp Therapy Support Group at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley 24 years ago. This continuously ongoing weekly program has had many cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers come together to experience the joy of playing the harp. Some of the group members give back by playing their harps in the local hospitals, nursing homes, and community centers creating a beautiful cycle of healing.
